A scientist turned professional closet organizer, declutter expert, podcast host, and the founder of Closet Therapy TM. With a degree in biology from St. John’s University and over a decade working with A-list celebrities, C-suite executives, and professionals, I bring science-backed insight to the most intimate space in your home, and the results go far beyond organization.
I have been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, InStyle, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, and major media outlets, and have appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show and the Oprah Podcast.
But before all of this, I am just a girl from the East Coast who took her science degree and built a closet organization business that doesn't just rely on pretty aesthetics but on science-backed insights that leave you organized, clearer-minded, and back in control of your time.
Closet organizer Shaniece Jones said an open-view storage setup is one she tries to emulate often in her clients’ closets. “I hear my clients always say, ‘Oh, my gosh, I didn’t even know I had this,’” she recalled. “When things are up on the shelf, it feels more open.”...
"As a professional closet organizer, I know how crucial it is to make the most of a small space, and dorm rooms are no exception." Below, Jones and other professional organizers share their personal recommendations on the top picks worth shopping from the sale...
Multi-tiered hangers may seem like they're there to make life easier because they save space, but don't be fooled. ..."Once you load them with clothes, they turn getting dressed into an early morning upper body workout because of how heavy they become, says Shaniece Jones...
Rather than stuff everything into a cluttered drawer, try stowing items in a three-tier cart. “You can use the cart in an office for a mobile work station, which is how I use mine at home... says professional organizer Shaniece Jones....
Now that you've read the career accomplishments, it's important to me to open my closet doors and let you know that despite the highlight reel on social media and my press page, my life and business didn't always look like this: the celebrity clients, the interviews in major media outlets.
I used to be so proud of my ability to work hard (working three jobs, being a full-time pre-med student and resident assistant), bounce back quickly from the tomatoes life threw at me, and still show up strong for others and as someone who had it all together. I didn't have it all together. By the time I was 32, I had experienced grief that didn't feel normal, losing my mother, my sister, and dealing with the murder of my brother was overwhelming, in addition to being laid off from the same company three times. What used to be anchors of my identity shifted. Life felt out of my control until it didn't because of one simple principle: Clean Out Your Closet.
My Closet was the place I felt most in control when life felt out of my control. It's the place I always felt safe to release my tears, say my fears out loud, and protect things I cherished and never wanted people to see or know.
It was a mirror that forced me to confront everything I had shoved to the back of the closet, physically and metaphorically. Cleaning out my closet and those of my clients led me to my hypothesis about the closet:
My hypothesis:
The closet is the most overlooked space in your home, yet it holds the most weight and has the power to improve your life.
P.S. I hope to work with you one day, or that you will continue to follow my work and use the resources I share through the newsletter, podcast, and on socials to help you improve your life.
Xxx Shaniece
For the past decade, I have worked with A-list celebrities, C-suite executives, and professionals who understand the life-changing power that an organized closet can bring to your day-to-day life.
I make the science of change simple, the emotional part safe, and the organizing part sustainable.
I have learned that improving my life doesn't happen by shoving things to the back of the closet. It happens when you confront the things you used to hide, let them go, and make room for what you're trying to lay hold of in life and in business.
I believe you can improve your life. You can change your behavior. You can get back the most valuable asset of time by cleaning out and organizing your closet.

I wanted to create a place where it’s okay to share your struggle. Here, community isn’t about perfection and exclusivity, it’s about access.
